Intralymphatic Immunotherapy is a faster, more targeted approach to allergy desensitization. And AASC is the only provider offering it in Illinois.

What Is Intralymphatic Immunotherapy?
Traditional subcutaneous immunotherapy (the standard allergy shot) is injected into the fat beneath the skin. It works, but it works slowly — requiring injections weekly or bi-weekly for years before a patient reaches a maintenance dose and begins feeling real, lasting relief.
Intralymphatic Immunotherapy takes a more direct route. Instead of injecting into fatty tissue, ILIT delivers the allergen dose directly into a lymph node — typically in the groin — using ultrasound guidance. Lymph nodes are the command centers of your immune system. By delivering the allergen there, ILIT essentially fast-tracks the immune system's learning process.
"If you've tried everything for your allergies and feel stuck, this might be the more targeted approach you need."
How Does ILIT Compare to Traditional Allergy Shots?
The differences are significant - both in time commitment and in how the treatment works at the biological level.

Who Is a Good Candidate for ILIT?
Intralymphatic Immunotherapy is not for everyone, but it may be a strong option if you:
Have been diagnosed with environmental allergies (pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold) and are interested in long-term desensitization — not just symptom management. Have tried traditional allergy shots and struggled with the time commitment, or found them only partially effective. Lead a busy lifestyle and cannot realistically commit to years of weekly or bi-weekly clinic visits. Are looking for a newer, more targeted approach and want access to a treatment that most allergy patients in Illinois don't even know exists yet.
An evaluation with one of our allergists will help determine whether your specific allergy profile and health history make you a good candidate.
